I’m a firm believer that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy and in keeping with that belief, my sessions are uniquely tailored to each individual. Each session is rooted in elements of client-centered and narrative therapeutic approaches which are designed to aide my clients in not only uncovering more of who they are in the present, but also, who they are striving to become in the future. While I recognize the power of exploring one’s inner world, it is also essential to recognize how external forces can shape our attitudes, beliefs, and feelings. In my practice, I may integrate principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy to increase my client’s awareness of negative thinking patterns or unsupportive dynamics so that they may make the changes necessary to lead a more enriching and fulfilling life. It would be my pleasure to be a source of support through your journey to self discovery.

Generalized anxiety can be a frustrating problem. If you find yourself worrying excessively, you probably feel like your mind starts racing and nothing you do can slow it down. OCD

There are few problems in life that cause as much suffering as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Many people mistakenly believe that OCD simply refers to people who like to keep things orderly, neat or clean but there are many different presentations of OCD. It may be very difficult to talk about your obsessions and you likely try to hide your compulsive behaviors from others. Be hopeful- it’s more common than you think. You CAN improve and manage your obsessions and compulsions.

Relationship Issues

Relationships are a huge part of our lives. From the moment we’re born, we’re connected to others in the world. Therapy can help you understand and improve experiences with those close to you including partners, family members, coworkers and friends. Quality relationships DO take work! Coming to know your own feelings and thoughts about your identity is a highly personal experience but I also believe that having support from an empathetic and affirming counselor can be incredibly helpful along the way.

Feeling insecure can be quite painful on a daily basis. Low self-esteem is a behavioral and thought pattern in which an individual lacks self-confidence and a healthy sense of self-regard. Symptoms of low self-esteem vary from person to person, and no two cases of low self-esteem are entirely alike. Therapy can help you understand the causes of these symptoms and regain or gain a sense of self-confidence.

Traumatic experiences can affect many areas of an individual’s life and can create extremely powerful and painful emotional experiences. There is no limit to what may cause trauma, and it all depends on your subjective experience. Therapy is an effective and long-lasting treatment for trauma and PTSD.
